Atelier POPI is me: Alix Nicolas.

“Popi” is the nickname my friends have been calling me for more than ten years. It has become the name of my studio, based in Brussels.

Trained in drawing at ENSAV La Cambre, then in cabinetmaking and carpentry, my path lies at the intersection of artistic practice and working with materials. I first developed projects in furniture and objects, exploring forms, color, and materials.

The discovery of fablabs and digital tools then opened up new possibilities for research and experimentation in my work. This is the beginning of Atelier POPI.

Today, my practice is evolving toward pieces situated at the boundary between design and artistic research. I explore the relationships between drawing, object, and space through different materials, surfaces, and always color.

All pieces are designed and made in my studio in Brussels.
